Bug#955130: ffmpeg: enable Intel QSV support
Package: ffmpeg
Version: 7:4.2.2-1
Severity: wishlist
Dear Maintainer,
Intel Quick Sync Video provides hardware encoding ability, which can be accessed through libmfx api.
To enable it, install the package libmfx-dev and build ffmpeg with --enable-libmfx.
You can test it with:
ffmpeg -init_hw_device qsv=hw -filter_hw_device hw -i <input> -vf 'format=p010,hwupload=extra_hw_frames=64,format=qsv' -c:v hevc_qsv -global_quality 18 -look_ahead 1 -profile:v main10 <output>
This will encode a 8bit video to h265 10bit(require Kaby Lake and newer platform).
