Looking at this again, now with the latest version on Sid, I can confirm that the fullscreen issue has been fixed at my end.
On the other hand, the issue with VLC annoyingly positioning itself where it shouldn't still persists.
I've also noticed that this also happens with lxpanel, so it's not a tint2 specific issue.
