Hi, I just noticed that Fedora has a very extensive book with lots of background stuff that musicians need for understanding how "pro-audio" software works in Linux. http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/14/html/Musicians_Guide It seems that most of the Guide also applies for Debian.
