Re: Jessie mirrors not working

Hi Carlos,

one entry in your sources.list is not correct. The address for jessie/updates is incomplete. Append "debian" to the url. The correct entry would be
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free

After changing the file you have to update the cache (e.g. by running apt-get update).

Greetings,
Christian

Hi list,

This is my first post to this list.
I cannot update my Jessie VM because of the following error that I have been experiencing for several days, I tried the update just now and it is still there.
The error arises both with httpredir or ftp.us.

I tried with the network card set to NAT and bridged and it is the same, my other VMs all work fine on NAT, but it was worth giving it a shot.
I published the issue at forums.debian.net and a user responded that he was also experiencing the problem.

This is the syntax for my sources.list:

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie main non-free contrib
# deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie  main non-free contrib

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free
# deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free

# wheezy-updates, previously known as 'volatile'
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free
# deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main contrib non-free

# Jessie Backports
deb http://http.debian.net/debian jessie-backports main contrib non-free

Again, httpredir or ftp.us make no difference.
Please take action on this issue.
Thank you,
