Yeah, that came to my mind, too.

I suspect that's no more necessary (or has just happened).
http://ftp.au.debian.org/debian/Archive-Update-in-Progress-mirror.linux.org.au
exists and has a very recent timestamp.
So I guess everything's fine again tomorrow.
