All my /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/* script pretty much does is
echo \$PPP_LOCAL=${PPP_LOCAL?}
echo -n 'Started: '
date -u
apt-get update
echo exit value was $?
echo -n 'Ended: '
date -u
But OK, I'll get my debs from ftp.br.debian.org from now on if it makes
you happy, even if it is about the farthest
