File download statistics from mirrors

Hey guys!

I'm interested in some "Install CDs downloads" statistics, as listed inhttp://wiki.debian.org/Statistics. I've already asked the debian-cd mailing list (http://lists.debian.org/debian-cd/2010/08/msg00013.html) for some hints, and I decided to work a bit before posting here.

I've checked the mirrors listed at the statistics wiki and I found a few difficulties in getting that number of downloads because not all mirrors have a statistic program like awstats or webalizer... or they have it, but they don't have a detailed, per file, download counter.

I was wondering if those programs/informations might lead to any security issue (I suppose it because those programs aren't really widely adopted), or that the log parsing might lead to unwanted resource usage.

I understand the independence between Debian and some mirrors, but any thought about how to get those informations will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Rafael.

Ps: I'm not subscribed to the list.. I'll really appreciate it if you send mea carbon copy. Thanks again!
