Just two comments about this bug:
- In practice gold was not build in the 2.26 packages, despite
--enable-gold being used. The symlinks were dead symlinks.
- The bug doesn't happened during upstream testing as it only
happens when using --enable-targets. By default when not specified,
  *all* targets are built.
