Re: Is SGI Octane supported?

Dear list,

Wheezy runs fine on my SGI O2, so I bought an Octane ... love the cases ;)

I checked http://www.debian.org/ports/mips/ and mipsel, and found no information regarding an Octane.
But I'm curious as arcload (http://packages.debian.org/stable/arcload) supports it ...

Is it possible to install Debian on an Octane?

Since nobody else has chipped in: I looked at that a year or so ago, and I think at the time I concluded that older versions might work but that no effort was being made to keep it running. At that point the PSU went in Octane #1, and Octane #2 started tripping the main breaker...

I suggest trying it to see what happens, but my experience with older systems suggests that you /might/ be better off with nothing newer than Lenny. /Please/ keep us updated on how you get on.
