Re: large disks in Cobalt Qube 2

I've used a 320GB disk with not problems, recently I switched to CF too. I'd be interested how you chapps get on with debian, as I never managed to get a stable debian setup, I've since stuck to netbsd and it's been rock solid.

You can all read the report on how I did it here: http://kennywest.blogspot.com/2010/02/story-of-cobalt-qube.html

Right now, the Qube isn't doing anything yet. I have the intention of using it as a Samba / NFS server to store backups.
It has been running for a while now, no crashes yet.

I was wondering if you were able to boot from this 320 GB hard drive, since mine just refuses and halts with an "ide: resetting" error / warning message. Mounting the drive from the boot prompt doesn't work either, so I am guessing my drive is too new for the Qube (http://www.westerndigital.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=768).

I was also wondering which stability issues you were experiencing. From what I can read on the Internet, I see there are other people also experiencing stability issues, but what are they. Kernel related, software related, ... ?

Thanks.

Kenneth
