Just got a SGI O2

Hello all,

I just got a hand-me-down SGI O2 with debian 4.0 installed. Looks like a 
cool machine to play with! :-)

I have a couple of initial problems:

1)
I do not have the root password. What do I do to start this thing in 
single user mode?

2)
Not able to close the CDROM tray. It takes a few seconds after I close 
it before it opens again.

Hopefully, someone can help me out so I can get started! :-)
