Probably transient build failure in NMU of "john"

Hi MIPS/el list,

Yesterday I uploaded an NMU of "john" to fix one important and one RC
bug in the hopes it can get into Etch. Unfortunately there was a build
failure on mipsel [0]. But the build failure has no real apparent cause
and it looks like a sort of weird transient problem that has even been
reported before [1].

I emailed mipsel@buildd.d.o yesterday to request a requeue, but nothing
has happened yet. If anyone on this list would be able to try
rebuilding john 1.6-40.1 on mipsel and let me know the results, it would
be greatly appreciated. If anyone has direct contact with the mipsel
buildd maintainer and could ask that person about it directly, or could
themselves make a binary upload of john 1.6-40.1 for mipsel, it would be
even more appreciated :-)

Please CC me since I'm not on this list.
Thanks and best regards,
