Nope... I've been using 2.4.27 ever since I put Debian on my Qube2...
and I don't have a clue which kernel upgrade caused SMBFS to break.

Yes, absolutely. I used to mount an SMB-share from an NSLU2 within the
LAN on my qube so I could access it from remote locations via SSH /
SFTP / SCP :-)
