And this is the putlcd from CoLo?

Which LCD patch?  I cannot find anything in the 2.4 patches on that
page.

The way the LCD is controlled changed at some point.  This is a
wild guess, but it seems that that your kernel is using the old
method.  Does the tool from
http://people.debian.org/~pm/mips-cobalt/lcdutils-0.2.tar.gz
work?

BTW, why don't you just use a Debian kernel?  (You can use 2.6 if
2.4.27 is too old for you.)

You know, I thought it was the colo putlcd I was using, but I redownloaded it just to be sure, and it seems to work.  It's the lcdutils one that doesn't work.  Thanks!

Apparently there wasn't an lcd patch in colonel-panic's patchset, for some reason I thought there was.

There was something in the 2.4 kernel that was missing that I needed, so I just compiled my own.  I've always used custom kernels (comes from running LFS systems probably), and I wasn't comfortable putting the server into production until I knew I'd be able to recompile my kernel if need be.

All is well, thanks again!
