You'll need modify kernel to triger some event, that could be done over
netlink socket (CONFIG_KOBJECT_UEVENT). Other posibility is to write
keypad-like driver. If you asked for some instant solution, I'm afraid,
there is not any (oh well, irda adapter on serial port and lirc ;))
