my crazy password problem
i noticed i had to "--s" instead of "-s" to boot single user mode.
anyway... my password problem is fixed. it seems i had $TERM set to
something the installation process did not mind, until after the reboot when
it asks about other software to install, sets root's passwd and so forth....
anyway the junk in front of my password was "[?1;2c"
now my debian-mips box is perfect including OpenSSH_3.5p1
and thanks to the people behind linux-debian.de!
