Problems running XFree86 4.2.1.1 (Debian 4.2.1-6) at 1024x768 on Indy

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

Hi,
I've recently updated our Indy to running Debian Unstable (which
ironically I found more stable than Debian Woody) and recently ran into
a few problems.

The biggest of these being XFree86 winging that the video mode,
1024x768 is not supported. I'm also unable to run at other (lower)
resolutions too. I'd run at a higher resolution if I was able to, but
I'm using a LCD monitor (Indy Presenter 15") which has a maximum
resolution of 1024x768.

I've also had problems running the Samba client, for some reason, I'm
not able to mount SMBFS volumes, I get an error message:

smbfs: mount_data version 1970496882 is not supported

I wouldn't have a clue what this means. What seems to be the problem here?

Anyways, here's the details of the box in question:

	CPU: MIPS R4600 133MHz
	RAM: 256MB
	VIDEO: Newport 8-bit with
			Indy Presenter expansion card.
			(Revision 6, 8 bitplanes,
			REX3 revision B, VC2 revision A,
			xmap9 revision A, cmap revision C,
			bt445 revision D.)

AUDIO: A2 audio (I think? - works with HAL2 driver,
is this capable of 16-bit stereo audio?)
			Revision 4.1.0

	OS: Debian Unstable/Testing
Hard Drive: IBM DNES-309170 9.1GB SCSI

I'll try and roll it back to the previous version of X (I think I've
got it somewhere) but otherwise, what can I do to fix this problem?
