I can't count the number of times I > have accidentally halted these sorts of servers in years gone by. A break in electrical senses is just a overlong 1 or 0 ?!? - can't remember. So when powering down the terminals voltages just drop to something undefined when powering down. A break can also be generating by just pressing space on 300bps - which will be a break at 9600bps.
