Which means your vh has either a bad magic number or a broken checksum.
Did you use the boot-floppies fdisk to create the vh? Can you check that
the the first bytes on your disk are really 0x0be5a941 which is the vh's
magic number ( od --format=x4 -N4 /dev/sdX )?
