PUNY first meeting, New Plans- Double Event

Important change plans- you'll really like this.

There is going to be an important Open Source event held by the NY New Media
Association @ Cooper Union and I have been given 10 $40 tickets for PUNY
members.

So, our first meeting has been down scaled from an "Official NYSIA SIG" to an
organizational meeting.

We will meet as scheduled ~AT IBM on 57th St~, I will give my 5 minute perl
lesson, we will talk for a while about PUNY organizational issues and future
plans...

...and then head down to their party and sell perl and our SIG to the "new
media" executives and web honchos while having a great time.

Bruce Bernstein, NYSIA president, suggested this and after I thought about it I
realized that this really fulfill the PUNY purpose of unifying all the worlds
systems around the only distributed systems language that really counts- PERL
!!

Everybody keep in mind the purpose here.

This is YOUR SIG, and it will be what you make of it. As you know, the sky is
the limit, and by using all our resources we will be able to directly benefit
the brave new world, get credit from business and government, and earn a great
living in the process.

(Bruce specifically asked me if the perl mongers and other linux integrators
would be interested in working on NYSIA web projects- I told him we are
planning make YAHOO look like kid's play thru mod_perl projects, he made some
comment about... well never mind.)

Needless to say, these tickets are a hot item, so keep the email me if/when you
decide you want to come.
