This is a kernel matter, not compile-tools.

First leave out PCI support - this is a guess of me, based on the fact
that pci.o is being compiled.
Second, subscribe to the Linux-MIPS mailing list if you're really
concerned about getting Linux going on your machine, but be warned it is
very addictive. :-) This is a Debian list and your problem is a Linux-MIPS
problem.

I'm afraid there are no kernel packages, at least I've never read about
compiled contemporary kernels for RMI's.
