I have applied (by hand) the included patch from strace 3.1 to 4.0
I HAVENT tried
to compile nor to run it - But probably someone is sitting in front
of his decstation and has the patience to compile and try it.
The ported patch is at
ftp://ftp.rfc822.org/pub/local/strace-mips/strace-4.0-mips-1.diff.gz
This is against the strace_4.0-1.1 debian package ...
