Debian Mentors is not a structured internship program, so Debian does not produce an official letter or certificate. However, an individual sponsor may be willing to draft a letter or certificate and sign it in their own behalf. For example, I would be willing to do so. Does your university have a specific list of requirements (like number of hours spent) they would like to see met by this internship. I should note that Debian does participate in some official internship programs sponsored by other organizations. The one that most easily comes to mind is Google’s Summer of Code. https://wiki.debian.org/SummerOfCode2025 Other examples are Outreachy and Open Source Promotion Plan. https://wiki.debian.org/Mentoring These programs are managed by their respective organizations and might have calendar requirements that might not line up with your university’s internship calendar. But, they could be worth looking into. -- Soren Stoutner soren@debian.org
