I haven't tested the package directly but I have found a few improvements that can be made from reading your files on Salsa. You might want to wait till someone can _properly_ review your package.

Here are the nitpicks:

In debian/copyright

- Change the copyright years of the upstream author from "2019" to "2019-2025"

- License the debian folder under the same license used by upstream source, which in this case is Expat.

There's no need of the docs file

The upstream doesn't seem to be releasing anything on Github so replace your debian/watch line 2 with this:

https://pypi.debian.net/py-sudoku/py-sudoku-(.+)\.(?:zip|tgz|tbz|txz|(?:tar\.(?:gz|bz2|xz)))

Now run the command 'uscan' in the package directory and if it doesn't return anything, then it's working.

As I said, I only _reviewed_ your work by reading the files on your Salsa repo, it's better if you wait for someone to actually review the entire package by building it in the first place.
