Bug#1075777: RFS: archivemount/1-1 -- mounts an archive or compressed file for access as a filesystem
Control: tag -1 moreinfo
Thanks
Hi,
archivemount showed up in the Bug of the Day[1] today and I've checked
the situation.
At first I need to say that my personal sponsoring style is that I
sponsor only from Git repositories on Salsa (for various reasons). Thus
my first action on this package was importing it to Salsa[2]. If we
find a new maintainer than this maintainer can decide where on Salsa the
package should reside (perhaps in debian/ name space or some other team
that might be a better fit).
Thanks to Chrysostomos Nanakos <cnanakos@debian.org> for confirming that
you can take over the package. This saves us from starting the Salvage
Proces (I admit I was about to file an `ITS: archivemount` bug when I
realised the RFA bug.)
Regarding the changes to the packaging. I consider the changelog as
*way* to short to be acceptable. Considering the upstream changelog
simply closing a bunch of bugs is probably OKish. However, there where
*a lot* of package modernisations (which I applaude) that need to be
mentioned in d/changelog. Starting with Vcs-fields (which is good in
principle, but please use some repository on Salsa), Standards-Version,
recent debhelper compat level, etc. This is all *very* good - but
it needs to be mentioned inside the changelog. Thus I have tagged the
bug `moreinfo`.
Kind regards and thanks a lot for bringing the package into shape
again
Andreas.
