Install autopkgtest and read its man page. Instead of running it locally, you can actually activate Salsa's CI by setting recipes/debian.yml@salsa-ci-team/pipeline as the CI configuration file in https://salsa.debian.org/michel/libkdumpfile/-/settings/ci_cd -> General pipelines. That runs autopkgtest by default.
