Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "jgmenu":

    * Package name    : jgmenu
      Version         : 4.3.0-1
      Upstream Author : Johan Malm <jgm323@gmail.com>
    * URL             : https://jgmenu.github.io/
    * License         : LGPL-2+, GPL-2+, Expat, LGPL-3+
    * Vcs             : https://github.com/mati75/jgmenu
      Section         : x11

It builds those binary packages:

     jgmenu-xfce4-panel-applet - xfce4-panel applet for jgmenu
     jgmenu - Simple X11 menu

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:
     https://mentors.debian.net/package/jgmenu/

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this
command:
     dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/j/jgmenu/jgmenu_4.3.0-1.dsc
Changes for the initial release:

    jgmenu (4.3.0-1) unstable; urgency=medium
    .
      * Initial release. (Closes: #882210)

One major problem: debian/copyright in your work says that the whole
project is licensed under GPL-2+, however the LICENSE file from
upstream only gives GPLv2 license text. The README file also does not
mention that the whole project is licensed under GPLv2 **or later**.

Could you please contact upstream to clarify the case? The best output
would be adding a "the whole project is licensed under GPLv2 or later"
sentense in the README file, which would make things clear to everyone.

P.S. I took a look at upstream's debian/copyright file at
https://github.com/johanmalm/jgmenu/blob/master/debian/copyright , in
which the upstream only mentioned GPL-2, not GPL-2+. If upstream is
only willing to release the whole project under GPL-2-only, using GPL-
2+ is wrong and must be fixed.

Fixed in new version uploaded to mentors.
