Bug#946965: RFS: sendmail/8.15.2-16 [QA] -- powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent (metapackage)

Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for a QA upload for package "sendmail"

 * Package name    : sendmail
   Version         : 8.15.2-16
   Upstream Author : Sendmail, Inc.
 * URL             : http://www.sendmail.org
 * License         : other-Sendmail
 * Vcs             : https://salsa.debian.org/debian/sendmail
   Section         : mail

It builds those binary packages:

  sendmail-bin - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent
  rmail - MTA->UUCP remote mail handler
  sensible-mda - Mail Delivery Agent wrapper
  libmilter1.0.1 - Sendmail Mail Filter API (Milter)
  libmilter-dev - Sendmail Mail Filter API (Milter) (development files)
  sendmail-doc - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent (documentation)
  sendmail - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent (metapackage)
  sendmail-base - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent (arch independent files)
  sendmail-cf - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent (config macros)

To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/sendmail

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/sendmail/sendmail_8.15.2-16.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

   * QA upload.
   * libmilter-dev: Add patch that changes the log level of the log message on
     socket close to DEBUG. (Closes: #945773)
   * libmilter-dev: Add milter.pc metadata file to enable pkg-config support.
     (Closes: #945797)

Regarding #945797, please ignore my previous messages over at the BTS. I
have now learnt Debian packaging basics and have studied the sendmail
build, so I’m now in a better position to propose a patch. I think the
solution here for including a new milter.pc file is quite
straightforward.

Unfortunately there is a bit of noise, because I had to execute the
target refresh-debian-configure in debian/rules to have milter.pc.in
processed properly and included in the build. But the two changes
themselves are small.

Thank you!
