Bug#932435: RFS: python-jellyfish/0.6.1-1
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal
Dear mentors,
I am looking for a sponsor for my package "python-jellyfish"
* Package name : python-jellyfish
Version : 0.6.1-1
Upstream Author : James Turk <james.p.turk@gmail.com>
* URL : https://github.com/jamesturk/jellyfish
* License : BSD-2-clause
Section : python
It builds those binary packages:
python-jellyfish - Library for approximate and phonetic matching of strings (Python 2)
python3-jellyfish - Library for approximate and phonetic matching of strings (Python 3)
python-jellyfish-doc - Library for approximate and phonetic matching of strings (documentation)

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:
dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/python-jellyfish/python-jellyfish_0.6.1-1.dsc
More information about python-jellyfish can be obtained from https://github.com/jamesturk/jellyfish.
Changes since the last upload:
[ Ondřej Nový ]
* d/control: Set Vcs-* to salsa.debian.org
[ Jelmer Vernooij ]
* Remove unnecessary X-Python{,3}-Version field in debian/control.
[ Diego M. Rodriguez ]
* Refresh patches after git-dpm to gbp pq conversion
* d/control: update python3-sphinx build-depends
* d/watch: update URL to https
* New upstream release
* Bump Standards-Version to 4.3.0
* d/control: update maintainer email address
Please note that the version is not the latest upstream release in an attempt to package the last version with Python 2 support. From the official documentation [1]:
> Jellyfish >= 0.7 only supports Python 3, if you need Python 2 please use 0.6.x.
Overall, this upload is an attempt to revive the jellyfish package that I previously uploaded, an includes a number of changes as a result (including a change in my email address, contributions by other helpful maintainers in order to tidy up the package, and several bumps to the standards version).
