Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the package "pam-u2f"

 * Package name    : pam-u2f
   Version         : 1.0.4-0.3
   Upstream Author : Yubico AG
 * URL             : https://developers.yubico.com/pam-u2f/
 * License         : BSD-2-clauses
   Section         : admin

It builds those binary packages:

  libpam-u2f - universal 2nd factor (U2F) PAM module
  pamu2fcfg  - universal 2nd factor (U2F) PAM module command-line helper tool

To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/pam-u2f

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/pam-u2f/pam-u2f_1.0.4-0.3.dsc

This fixes an build error on Debian/kFreeBSD.
The patch this adds has been submitted back upstream:

  https://github.com/Yubico/pam-u2f/pull/40

As mentionned in #830907 and #830908, there is an ongoing discussion regarding
how to maintain this package (and a few others) in the future. It is however
currently stalled (Yubico's U2F team is on vacation, it seems), and I would
like this fix to be uploaded in the meantime.

Best regards,

  nicoo

Hi,

I usually *don't* like to sponsor stuff, specially NMU fixing no bugs on BTS,
and moreover on non-release architectures.

In this very particular case upstream seems to be blessing every NMU you do, and
considering adding you as comaintainer, other than merging your patches.

So, I did sponsor it, but yeah, please take the comaintainership, because NMUs
can be seen from the outside as "the maintainer is not caring", while in this
case the maintainer is just "giving the packaging to you" :)

thanks once again for the fix!

G.
