well, updating the packaging is something I generally like a lot, it makes
easier to contribute to the package, and easier to maintain on the long
term.
Of course you are the maintainer, upstream developer so it is really up
to you, but since the work is already done here, how do you feel about
giving it a chance or at least cherry-pick some bits?
e.g. copyright updated in a machine-readable format, bach completion, and
other things might be interesting for you :)
