I'm looking for a sponsor for the package:

It is one of the last depends before the newer IPython can be packaged .

It is packaged within the Debian Python Module Team repository here:

It builds those binary packages:

    python-traitlets - Lightweight Traits-like package for Python 2

    python3-traitlets - Lightweight Traits-like package for Python 3
