clicking on "logs" shows a lot of failed attempts

https://buildd.debian.org/status/logs.php?pkg=r-cran-treescape&arch=amd64

Selecting previously unselected package r-base-core.

W: No sandbox user '_apt' on the system, can not drop privileges
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

so, unless you fix r-base the build will fail.
[edit]
this seems to be a bug in dpkg
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=848422

maybe in the next chroot update it will fix by itself

(feel free to test in a chroot)
dpkg 1.8.17 should have the fix
