I think there might be something up with your pbuilder chroot. At least the initial stages of the build work fine for me with sbuild (gcc errors out later though). Also I don't think you've given enough of the build log for anyone to help you that well. The only thing I can think of is that gcc isn't in the PATH at that point (either not installed or the PATH is clobbered somewhere). Not having a "Setting up gcc-6" line appearing after the "Setting up gcc-6-base" line also seems a little fishy to me. James
