Probably, when it becomes more wide-spread? Right now, I can't prove that
this functionality is wanted by anyone except me.

There is another option. Manpage deb-substvars(5) mentions
${F:fieldname} variable, but it works only for a limited set of fields
(like Source, Architecture, Section). For rest of fields, it expands
to empty text. Maybe this limitation can be lifted instead, and
dh-text will be unnecessary, since ${F:X-Description} would be used
instead?
