I myself use Alioth, Savannah, SourceForge, GitHub and LaunchPad fordifferent projects. There are no hosting facilities that I personallylike, mostly because they are all web services.

There are many command-line tools that let you distance yourself fromthe webby nature of GitHub. This is what I use:
