Dear mentors,

I am looking for a spondor for a QA upload of sortmail, fixing a stretch
RC bug. Although Hamish Moffatt suggested removing the package from
Debian in his orphaning bug report, popcon reports there are users and
upstream is active (they have already applied a patch I forwarded).

I have not fixed everything that could be fixed; I fixed the RC bug, and
tried to get the package into a more attractive state for adoption.

* Package name    : sortmail
  Version         : 1:2.4-2
  Upstream Author : Edward A. Falk
* URL             : http://sortmail.sourceforge.net
* License         : BSD-1-clause
  Section         : mail

Changes since the last upload:

  * QA upload.
  * Set maintainer to QA team (see #790732).
  * Switch to source format 3.0 (quilt).
  * Modernise d/rules:
    - Bump debhelper compat & build dependency to 9 (Closes: #817673).
    - Use dh sequencer, overriding dh_auto_install.
    - Enable --parallel.
    - Add ${misc:Depends} to bin:sortmail dependencies.
    - Add d/examples.
    - Add d/docs.
    - Add d/install.
    - Add d/manpages (Closes: #593763).
  * Apply patch from Mathias Klose to fix build with ld --as-needed
    (Closes: #641440).
  * Add enable-debugging-symbols.patch so dh_strip can generate sortmail-dbgsym.
  * Remove article from description synopsis.
  * Add Vcs-* fields pointing to collab-maint.
  * Add Homepage: field.
  * Declare compliance with policy version 3.9.8.
    - Re-encode d/copyright as UTF-8.

Download with dget:

    dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/sortmail/sortmail_1:2.4-2.dsc

Or build it with gbp:

    gbp clone --pristine-tar https://anonscm.debian.org/git/collab-maint/sortmail.git
    cd sortmail
    git checkout debian/1:2.4-2
    git verify-tag debian/1:2.4-2 # if you have my key
    gbp buildpackage

Thanks.
