If not, please help me figure > this out :-) That's pretty much how it goes. The best thing is to pull together the package, and when you think it is ready, upload it to mentors.debian.net. Ask for some reviews for your package on this list, and you should receive comments to help improve it. Once you have a positive review, create a RFS bug (Request For Sponsor), and hopefully a sponsor will offer to work with you and do an upload.
