Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "wmanager" to fix an important
bug in the version in testing: do not use an incorrect obsolete full
path to "update-alternatives". The release team gave me pre-approval
for unblocking the testing migration in #771160, but it would need to be
uploaded to unstable before December 5th.

* Package name    : wmanager
  Version         : 0.2.1-12
  Upstream Author : Meik Tessmer <fuller@daemogorgon.net>
* License         : GPL-2+
  Section         : x11

It builds a single binary package:

  wmanager - window-manager selection tool used at X startup

Now, I am very well aware that the version uploaded to mentors.d.n
provokes a whole lot of warnings and errors from Lintian. I do have
an updated version in my Gitorious repository, and I sent an RFS for it
about an year ago, then tried again about a month ago, then withdrew it
when the hammer dropped for the Jessie migration. This upload is
a targeted fix for #769966, it does not attempt to refresh the rest of
the packaging, and, as mentioned above, this seems to please the release
team for a testing migration.

The package is uploaded to mentors.d.n:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/wmanager

  dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/w/wmanager/wmanager_0.2.1-12.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

wmanager (0.2.1-12) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Do not use the obsolete and incorrect full path to update-alternatives
    in wmanagerrc-update.  Closes: #769966
    Thanks, Guillem Jover <guillem@debian.org>

Uploaded.

Thanks for your clear and comprehensive description what this is all
about, what the situation is and what you've done -- that made it
easy for me to find the motivation to look into it :)

Cheers,
gregor
