Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

  Dear mentors,

  I am looking for a sponsor for my package "libstrophe" - again. The
  last version was rejected because of undocumented licensing. I fixed
  these now, after claryfing things with FTP Masters.

  NOTE: the package links to OpenSSL but we choose the license to be
  MIT, so it is not a violation. The code is however licensed both GPL
  and MIT.

 * Package name    : libstrophe
   Version         : 0.8.6-1
   Upstream Author : Jack Moffit <jack@metajack.im>
 * URL             : http://strophe.im/libstrophe/
 * License         : MIT and GPL-3+
   Section         : libdevel

  It builds those binary packages:

   libstrophe-dev - Library for writing XMPP clients - development files
   libstrophe0 - Library for writing XMPP clients - shared library

  libstrophe is a minimal XMPP library written in C. It has almost no
  external dependencies, only an XML parsing library (expat or libxml
  are both supported). It is designed for both POSIX and Windows
  systems.

  I worked with libstrophe upstream past months to make it suitable
  for Debian. I helped them with autotools, so that shared library is
  built along the static one. Encouraged them to tag relases in
  github, and together we closed some pull requests.

  Libstrophe is used by profanity.im, a console XMPP client inspired
  by IRSSI, which I intend to pack too, this week.

  To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/libstrophe

  Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

    dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/libs/libstrophe/libstrophe_0.8.6-1.dsc

  Or go directly to the VCS at Alioth git:
  http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/libstrophe.git

  More information about *libstrophe* can be obtained from http://strophe.im/libstrophe/.

  Changes since the last upload:

  * Initial release (Closes: #511341)

Regards,
