Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "acpi-call"

 * Package name    : acpi-call
   Version         : 1.1.0-1
   Upstream Author : Michal Kottman
 * URL             : https://github.com/mkottman/acpi_call
 * License         : GPL-3+
   Section         : kernel

It builds those binary packages:

  acpi-call-dkms - Kernel module that enables you to call ACPI methods

To access further information about this package, please visit the following
URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/acpi-call

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/a/acpi-call/acpi-
call_1.1.0-1.dsc

I filed an ITP for this package which is available here:

  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=760338

This package provides a kernel module that could be needed by owners of new
ThinkPad laptops, see the ITP for more information.

Now some things about myself:

I'm a system/network administrator, specialized in Debian. I use it since
slink, and I build Debian packages for my personnal use (my own machines, as
well as some family's and friends' machines I maintain) for several years now.
I have my own private repository made with reprepro, my packages are built with
pbuilder, checked with lintian, signed, etc etc so I hope they are now ready
for review and eventually, sponsorship. For some time now I'm thinking of
contributing to Debian on a wider scale, and I believe that the work I already
do for myself, friends and family could be useful for other people in the
Debian community. I intend to file a couple of sponsorship requests on debian-
backports too, also concerning packages needed for new ThinkPad laptops. I
already uploaded them to mentors.debian.net and can be found here, if you're
interested:

  https://mentors.debian.net/packages/uploader/raphael.halimi%40gmail.com

I sincerely hope that the skills I have acquired through all these years will
allow me to contribute to Debian as a package maintainer.

Regards,

Package acpi-call version 1.1.0-1 is in NEW now,
and the package at mentors is not newer (2014-09-03) than the package in NEW (2014-09-03),
so there is currently no package to sponsor.

http://ftp-master.debian.org/new/acpi-call_1.1.0-1.html
http://mentors.debian.net/package/acpi-call

Please remove the package from mentors or mark it "needs sponsor = no".
If for some reason you need to replace the package in NEW,
then you can upload an updated package to mentors
and feel free to reopen this RFS 760346 or open a new RFS.
