  Ok, you can drop that change.

  Actually what happens implicitly (at least on Ubuntu precise) is: 
  $(CC) $(CFLAGS) $(LDFLAGS) $^ -o $@

  which causes the compilation to fail, because the -l<...> should be 
  after the object files (or source files in this case).
