RFS: tilda package

Hello Everyone,

this is my first message to this list. I have recently picked up the development of tilda. The current package in debian and ubuntu is from 2009 and has version 0.9.6. I got in touch with the previous developers (Ira Snyder, Tristan Sloughter) and they are both not developing it any more. Also as far as I know the current maintainers of the package are also not available anymore. The old version 0.9.6 has known bugs and does not support GTK+3.

So I started developing on tilda a few month ago. I migrated tilda to GTK+3, fixed a few bugs and added some features. Today I just released version 1.1.0 and I think it would be nice to have a new updated version of tilda in debian. The current source can be found at [1], the changelog can be found at [2]

Unfortunately I do not have any packaging experience and currently hardly the time to learn it. I tried it a few times before and it does not seem to be an easy process. I am therefore looking for a sponsore to package and upload tilda to debian.

Given the fact that there is already a tilda package in debian and the program it self is very small and as only a few dependencies, I believe it should not be too much effort for a skilled packager. I have documented the changes quite well (I think) and the commited are quite self contained and easy to follow, it should not be too difficult to verify that there are no unwanted lines of code in the source.

If anymore feels happy to sponsor for this package, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Last but not least, I should mention, that the old location of tilda on sourceforge is pretty much dead. The code was moved to github.com long ago [3], but besides a few patches no development has occured. I do have access to this repository as well, though, in case it should be necessary to merge the code back to [3].

Kind Regards
Lanoxx

P.S. There is also a nice applet for gnome-panel lying around in my github repository named 'window-picker-applet' that works well with GTK+3 and needs packaging as well. :-)
