RFS: cows-and-bulls - Words-based cows and bulls guessing game
Dear mentors,
I am looking for a sponsor for my package "cows-and-bulls". It is a
word guessing game based on the "cows and bulls" game also known by
its commercial implementation "Mastermind". While there are number and
colors based implementations in the debian archive already, there is
no word-based implementation. This package serves to satisfy such a
thing.
Here is a short description about how the game works. When the game
starts, the player has to give the length of the word to be used for
the game - 3-8 characters. The game will then pick a random word from
a dictionary file (for now, it is the standard /usr/share/dict/words).
The player has to start by guessing words of the chosen length. For
each guess, the game will tell the number of cows and bulls. Cow is a
letter in the word chosen by the game that is present in the player's
guessed word in the exact same position and a bull is a letter in the
word chosen by the game that is present in the player's guessed word
in a wrong position. Using this feedback, the player has to improve
his guesses and eventually find out the word chosen by the game.
