The only benefit, and the reason why I mentionned this as
a possibility, would be to have a way to differentiate, in the version
numbers, new releases that only change the packaging, from releases
that change things deeper. All this because you seemed to be reluctant
to increase the version number for minor changes in debian/control and
stuff. But I don't care, really. Both native and non-native would do.
