* building in a clean cowbuilder does not succeed, could be a cowbuilder issue:
$ sudo /usr/sbin/cowbuilder --build --buildresult . poedit_1.5.4-1.dsc
....
fakeroot is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

I: copying [/home/norbert/Debian/poedit/SIGNATURE-----]
cp: cannot stat `/home/norbert/Debian/poedit/SIGNATURE-----': No such file or directory
* building in the running system also dies:
$ dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -rfakeroot
...
dh_auto_clean
Buildfile: /home/norbert/Debian/poedit/poedit-1.5.4/build.xml
BUILD FAILED
Target "clean" does not exist in the project "Poedit".
....
But I guess the same build failure would happen in the cowbuilder, too.
Can you fix that, please?
