Please review my 2 packages for the Swiss Ephemeris. The 1st is a library package and this is my first package so look for first time mistakes. I plan to eventually ask for a sponsor to get the Swiss Ephemeris into Debian. The Swiss Ephemeris is a blocking point for 4 or 5 other programs including one in KDE/playground. I have had to work around some problems with the upstream source that did not really work with the requirements of GNU/Linux in mind. The first is the Swiss Ephemeris library. Its source can be found here: ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/ #a directory not a repository ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/libswe_1.77.00.0001.orig.tar.gz ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/libswe_1.77.00.0001.orig-astrodienst.tar.gz ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/libswe_1.77.00.0001.orig-astrodocsrc.tar.gz ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/libswe_1.77.00.0001-1.debian.tar.gz ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/libswe_1.77.00.0001-1.dsc =====source above======= ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/libswe-dev_1.77.00.0001-1_i386.deb ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/libswe0_1.77.00.0001-1_i386.deb ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/swe-basic-data_1.77.00.0001-1_all.deb ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/libswe_1.77.00.0001-1_i386.build ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/libswe/libswe_1.77.00.0001-1_i386.changes This is an unusual 3 tarball source reason found in README.source. The second package is the Swiss Ephemeris standard data. It is bigger in size, but much more simple. I have had to source its tarball from data on astrodienst ftp site. It contains all the standard Swiss Ephemeris data. It can be found here: ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/swe-standard-data/ #a directory not a repository ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/swe-standard-data/swe-standard-data_00001.orig.tar.gz ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/swe-standard-data/swe-standard-data_00001-1.debian.tar.gz ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/swe-standard-data/swe-standard-data_00001-1.dsc ======source above===== ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/swe-standard-data/swe-standard-data_00001-1_all.deb ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/swe-standard-data/swe-standard-data_00001-1_i386.build ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/swissephauto/debian/swe-standard-data/swe-standard-data_00001-1_i386.changes lintian -i -I does not show anything anymore. http://swissephauto.blackpatchpanel.com/ documents my way of building using autotools. This part is hosted at Berlios. https://developer.berlios.de/projects/swissephauto/ I have also had to resource some documentation source omitted by upstream. And I have had to source for the first time the Swiss Ephemeris data into a form that allows packaging , which is available from the upstream's (Astrodienst) web site. In the docs I refer in places to releases to parts at Berlios, these releases have not actually been made yet, because I may want to change those parts as a result of your criticism! Please ignore this. I will do the releases before applying for a sponsor. These packages also builds correctly under opensuse build service: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=debian&project=home%3Apelliott11%3Aastrology%3Aswissephauto%3Alibswe https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=debian&project=home%3Apelliott11%3Aastrology%3Aswissephauto%3Aswe-standard-data Please inform me of any mistakes or flaws. -- Paul Elliott 1(512)837-1096 pelliott@BlackPatchPanel.com PMB 181, 11900 Metric Blvd Suite J http://www.free.blackpatchpanel.com/pme/ Austin TX 78758-3117
