I don't intend to sponsor this package, but here's my cursory review:
- Please honour DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nocheck.
- If possible, please run tests with all supported Python versions.
- Why priority extra?
- Don't use ${python:Provides} unless you have to AND you know what you 
are doing. Rationale:
