RFS: git

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 1:1.7.4.1-3 of git.

It builds these binary packages:
git - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system
git-all - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (all subpacka
git-arch - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (arch interop
git-core - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (obsolete)
git-cvs - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (cvs interope
git-daemon-run - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (git-daemon s
git-doc - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (documentatio
git-el - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (emacs suppor
git-email - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (email add-on
git-gui - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (GUI)
git-man - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (manual pages
git-svn - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (svn interope
gitk - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (revision tre
gitweb - fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (web interfac

The upload would fix these bugs: 614578, 614659

The git*.el packaging in sid is buggy in a way which makes upgrades
unpleasant --- if emacsen-common is unpacked but not configured when
postinst runs, postinst errors out. Sorry about that. This version
seems to fix it, so far.

The strategy: depend on emacsen-common in the git package, which
cleans up the mess from the previous version, and move emacsen support
to a new separate git-el package, to simplify and speed up upgrades
for those who don't need it.

The package can be found in the usual places.

- dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/git/git_1.7.4.1-3.dsc

I would be happy if someone finds time to look it over.

Regards,
Jonathan
