Indeed, we would like to merge back into original synergy, and I agree
that the best way to get bug fixes to users would be to upload the
package as synergy... However, our APT was denied:

That said, just yesterday, I managed to get in touch with Chris S (the
original project owner). It's too soon to make any predictions, so
we'll just have to see what happens.
